Biografia do Professor

My name is João Afonso, and I have had a passion for sports since childhood.
Over the years, I have practiced a wide variety of sports, but my main focus and dedication were towards swimming, where I competed professionally.
I pursued my studies in Physical Education and Sports in Lisbon, which provided me with a solid foundation and opened doors to various opportunities in the fitness industry. Through my education, I developed a keen interest in understanding the myriad ways to motivate individuals and promote physical activity for overall well-being.
My career in fitness began in gyms, where I explored numerous methods and materials to enhance the effectiveness and enjoyment of physical activities. I've had the pleasure of teaching several fitness disciplines including hydro gymnastics, stretching, Body Pump, Pilates, and Body Balance.
In recent years, my focus has shifted to two exciting and dynamic disciplines: Pole Dance and Calisthenics. Both of these practices not only challenge the body in unique ways but also provide a holistic approach to fitness, combining strength, flexibility, and artistic expression.
Pole Dance, with its blend of dance and acrobatics, has been an incredible journey of self-expression and physical prowess.
Meanwhile, Calisthenics, with its emphasis on bodyweight exercises, has been instrumental in building functional strength and agility.
Throughout my journey, my mission has always been to inspire and motivate others to embrace a physically active lifestyle. Whether through structured classes or personalized coaching, I strive to make fitness an enjoyable and integral part of people's lives.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to sharing more about my experiences and the joys of physical activity with all of you.
